Mizoram is a pristine state located at the edge of the northern boarder of India. The state is ornamented as ‘Lushai Hills’ for its serene natural beauty and eye soothing views. First they stayed in the Shan State in 5th century. The Mizo hills came under British rule in 1895. Later it was declared as ‘Backward Tract’. Post independence the place was defined as the Union Territory of India and finally it got the state-hood on 21st January, 1972. The state has several tourist destinations. Aizawl is served as the capital city of the state. Bung and Paikhai are two popular spots which hold some magical vistas for the tourists. The place is decorated with many historical caves and antique monuments. It holds a vast area of forests which comprises Semi-evergreen forest, Sub-Tropical forest and Sub-montage forest. It is the home of many rare orchids and rich Flora and fauna.

Dampa Tiger Reserve, Blue Mountain National Park, Khawnglung Wildlife Sanctuary, Murlen National Park, Ngenpui Wildlife Sanctuary, Tawi Wildlife Sanctuary and Thorangtlang Wildlife Sanctuary are located in the state. Barking Deer, Serrow,Himalayan Black Bear, Hoolock Gibbon and various species of avian are seen here. The caves of Mizoram offer memorable vistas. Milu Puk, Lamsial Puk, Pukzing Cave are some well visited caves. The state offers some tranquil views of serene lakes included Rengdil, Tamdil, Rungdil and Palak. Fishing and boating are some activities that tourists enjoy most. Its deep valleys offers the exhilarating experiences of trekking. There are almost 21 peaks in Mizoram which give a good mountaineering option. Mizos is the indigenous inhabitants of this state. Some tribal groups are seen which are originated from Mizos. Lushai is the most prominent one apart from Hmar, Mara, Ralte and Pawi.
