The Tires and Manufactures | Cars | Automotive

Ever wondered what makes the world go round? No, it is not love or any other sappy emotion for that matter. Neither is it the circle of life or the concept of what goes around comes around. What really makes the world go about its course is transportation. It is the ability of taking living as well as non-living things from one place to another. There are many modes of transportation. Cars, trucks, planes, trains and even cycles and carts; the list is endless. Ever wondered what drives them? It is not any fuel or hydraulic engine that is the core of them. The real mastermind of all operations is what’s underneath the vehicle. You guessed right, it is the tires that are the real wonder. Whether it is the tires on a tricycle that help balance it or the tires on an airplane that helps to land it. Tires are very important for all kinds of vehicles all over the world. They say that the first thing that the early man invented was a stone wheel. The fascination that the circular moving stone held was immense.

The early man even then knew that the possibilities were endless. After stone came the iron tires. These were large strips of iron or steel that were heated and placed on wood. Then they were cooled down to fit together tightly. These were mostly used on carts and wagons. After that came the advent of the ever famous and still in large use, rubber tires. The specialty of rubber is that it can withstand wear and tear for quite a long time without disintegrating. They are used in almost all kinds of vehicles, even in toy cars. The tires are specially designed so that they can aid mankind in all kinds of weather and terrain conditions. The exterior of a tire is the main area which remains in contact with the road. It produces friction between the road and its surface that enables the vehicle to drive effectively. Furthermore, the tires that need to function in dry or sandy areas like the rugged mountain regions or deserts are built quite tough so that they may get a good grip of the surface.

Also, fully slick tires are designed so that they can facilitate the vehicle to deliver its best performance under wet conditions. We all know how slippery the road pavement can be with mud or snow. If a tire does not have high resistance towards these two factors, chances are that the vehicle would loose control and possibly result in an accident. Special snow tires and tire chains are manufactured to prevent such hazards. Also, mud tires that have huge chunks as patterns on them are designed so that they can bite into the mud and prevent slipping. There are many tire manufacturing companies like Goodyear and Dunlop that produce top quality tires of all shapes and sizes for all kinds of weather conditions. In fact, these companies contribute to about 60% of the market share, depicting just how important this industry is.
