Action Packed “Justice League” - Television

Justice League is an American animated series started by Bruce Timm and Paul Dini on November 17, 2001 till May 29, 2004. Warner Bros. Animation provided the finance to the show. In all show gave 5 episodes in 2 seasons with 20-23 minutes of the duration on Cartoon Network.

The series are based on Justice League of America and a comic book with DC Comics as the publishers which shot a team of superheroes. The animator of Batman and Superman Bruce Timm with his animated television programs adopted a challenge to convert the Justice League into animated comic series. The main motive behind the production of these series is to give tribute to original team of the Justice League of America with making changes in discrimination on racial and cultural bases.

Kevin Conroy who gave his voice to Batman later he gave his voice in this series though his voice in these series was high pitched than previous role of Batman. Batman’s dress was redesigned with a mixture of new animated costumes but his original blue marks and longer ears and mask remain the same. Superman was given a voice by Tim Daly. Initially when Superman was redesigned he was given streaks in his hair with wrinkled and suint in his eyes but audience didn’t like his appearance so he was redesigned again in second season. The flash was new character that was introduced to the comic series by taking some of the traits from Plastic Man. The major changes were brought in Hawkgirl with making her character romantic and she involved with John Stewart Green Lantern.

Superhero Aquaman was replaced by Hawkgirl, who is the second girl in this team after Wonder Woman. John Stewart who is an African American Green Lantern was used for modern Green Lanterns with Hal Jordan Guy Gardner and Kyle Rayner. Later it was discovered that Stewart is a personality with more drama and potential so Rayner was sent for training under Stewart’s old mentor. Later after this season the nest season of the show names as Justice League Unlimited and Rayner and Jordan appeared in that season.

The show received huge success for its premier and with its loyal fans. This success made Cartoon Network to broadcast this show back to back. After the finale of second season Cartoon Network declared that in February 2004, Justice League Unlimited would show its premier on July 31, 2004. This extension would have limited heroes with extended powers and roster fighting against wrong doers.

The show received great reviews from fans and critics and many of them compared these series with Batman: The Animated cycle as its almost same appearance and story board. The show received 8.6 score out of 10 on Internet Movie Database. It was named as 20th best animated television series of all times by IGN in January 2009 with its Justice League Unlimited cycle.
